This is a recording of Kathryn Hansman-Spice’s virtual class that was held on October 7, 2020.
We all know that there has been a Neuroplasticity Revolution - a major shift in understanding of the changeability of our brain, from static to plastic.
The brain is no longer perceived as hard wired, but as an every changing flow of information. We are born with a blueprint of genes to program our unique development, but which genes are expressed, or turned on, to shape our growth depends on many factors.
The capacity to change needs to be activated and cultivated. What is it the brain needs to change
How do our trainings and sessions incorporate the factors that turn on neuroplasticity and make it more likely that new patterns will be learned?
If we consider Mentastics as Self-Directed Neuroplasticity, are our movement explorations more pleasurable and meaningful?
How do neuroplasticity concepts help us speak to clients’ desire to “be fixed”?
How do we facilitate and structure our sessions to maximize the likelihood that new feeling experiences move from short term to long term memory, becoming new ways of being in the world.
How can our trainings be enhanced by a framework that links Trager principles with Neuroplasticity principles?
These are big questions that we can only begin to consider in 2 hours. I trust that our dialogues will inspire other community conversations.
