Roger Hughes is a Trager® Practitioner and Instructor. He is a certified Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist. Roger is a visiting Instructor in the Trager® Certification Program at the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Silver Spring Maryland. Roger is a 1995 graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy. From 1998 to 2016, he was certified by the Dr. Vodder School International as a Dr. Vodder Therapist in Manual Lymph Drainage. Since 2005, Roger has maintained his Trager Practice in Chicago Il at Shen Shen Health and Harmony, a Chinese Medicine Clinic in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. He asssists each client in feeling more at home in their body, whilst, addressing a broad spectrum of clinical concerns, symptoms, and conditions theymay present.

Roger specializes in working with those who are challenged by the physical and mental weight of trauma, and/or life events/experiences that create a dis-ease or disconnect in being fully grounded, and at ease in their body, in daily life. He understands how feeling un- safe (in danger mode) directly influences the pain mechanism, and creates patterns of compensitory stiffness, movement limitations, and mental worry.

Working collaboratively with each person, in an atmosphere of safety and comfort, disarms the the contractile forces associated with the the survival mode, or state of 'over self-regulation'. A Trager session experience offers the person, their mind and their body the conscious feeling experience to pleasurably inhabit the body they live in.
