Uplifting Poetry by Donna Hood, LMT

Aloha dear friends, family, massage clients and film colleagues,

I hope this email finds you healthy and coping with our trying times.

As some of you know I have written poetry since I was five years old.  Although I was published in college I have mostly kept them to myself.  But the current events have prompted me to share my poems with a greater audience. Below are a few examples.

Since I am not practicing massage right now due to the pandemic I just wanted to share a little healing love through my poetry.

Take good care, stay well and peace, Donna

Forgiveness is a sparkling flowing River with no beginning or end.

Strong as steel.

Electric.

Washing away the Past,

bringing us to the Moment,

embracing the Future.

Tranquility.

I see only Beauty.

And Know that which is broken

can be mended.

On a quiet summer's eve

two scruffy gray squirrels

dance playfully on a power line.

Fresh ocean wind blows a tall green fern.

Close by

two young lovers half hidden

amongst fading red roses

share a home cooked meal

while sitting on white Adirondack chairs.

The sun sets

Mother Earth cools

and She is thankful.

Street lights miraculously pop on

as the pink sky darkens.

Life is lovely.

I inherited a stunning framed 8 X 10 black and white photograph of Pablo Picasso

standing in his insanely cluttered studio.

I am wild about Picasso's art.

But I would hate to be his housekeeper.

Frank the great Reiki Master says,

"Have patience."

Lillian the sweet church secretary says,

"Be kind."

I say,

"Persevere."

With these three ideals we can overcome.
