Uplifting Poetry by Donna Hood, LMT - November 2020

Autumn Light

The golden Autumn light falls on the amber maple tree

like a luminous waterfall from God.

___

Love

Try to learn to love and bless your enemies.

It can set you free.

___

Circumstance

Circumstance is our Great Parent.

It guides us when we know not what to do.

___

Plans

John Lennon so wisely said,

"Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans."

lsn't that the God's Truth?

___

God honors the questioning mind

heals the broken heart

and loves All.

___

The rust colored leaf fallen on the cold wet pavement is not dead.

She is alive and still emanates warm vibrant beauty,

a lovely senior citizen with Knowledge yet to share.

___

Muddy Bottom

I knew not if the muddy bottom of my Soul was Good or Evil.

In a Dream I saw it was fertile soil from which emerged

a Bird of Paradise flower with white and dark rose tipped petals.

The symbol of Joy and Freedom.

___

The few bright yellow leaves remaining on the huge oak tree

light up the dark November morning sky like

a glimpse of sunshine.

___

Reality can make you cry.

Reality can make you laugh.

Sometimes you even smile through your tears.

So you know what?

We're gonna be OK.

___

Rockefeller the Owl

Let us celebrate Rockefeller the Owl!

Small but mighty.

A tiny Northern Saw-whet,

he survived the trip traveling from upstate New York,

hitching a ride in a 75 foot Norway spruce

destined to be The Rockefeller Center's Christmas tree.

A hungry refugee somewhat reminiscent of

the babe in a manger long ago who gives us hope

for a better tomorrow.

An early Holiday gift of light

in a dark and difficult year.

___

I spent the first half of my Life

worrying if my home was clean enough.

Now I wonder and worry why

I spent so much time worrying about it.
