As I step out into the more open spaces of vaccinated lives, I realize that I am embodying a deep felt sense of gratitude for the gifts I have received from our Trager Community. I feel nourished by the gathering together in zoom for Friday Mentastics, and inspired by the gracious way we have encouraged new voices to share their gifts of just being themselves. There are few places in the world where we can show up in a vulnerable way, risking to share leadership, trusting that we will be received with open, appreciative hearts. We all have witnessed the way in which tentative or new voices have blossomed in confidence and creativity, given the encouragement, permission and support to show up in their own way. This loving embrace is one of the gifts we have to share with the world.
In addition to Friday Mentastics, the vision of Group Tutorials and Classes for pay has given a platform to many teachers to share their unique perspectives. None of this would have been possible without the development of many new procedures and forms to facilitate the teaching of different classes, and the redevelopment of a website to feature recordings and resources for later viewing. I cannot name all the volunteers who first learned the zoom skills and had the vision to bring us together, but I imagine a team of “elves” behind the scenes who scurry to keep all the balls in place. And like Topsy it grew!!
I am sending virtual hugs of appreciation to everyone for building these deeper connections, compassion and community. I especially salute all those who serve on the Board, volunteering energy and hours to create the structure and ponder the big questions.
Feeling nourished, enriched and inspired,
